Surprise European Championship for Beechdean AMR

Beechdean Aston Martin Racing (AMR) and its drivers Andrew Howard, Darren Turner and Alex MacDowall have become the 2016 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) GTE Champions in emphatic style at the Estoril Finale. The team clinched their fifth championship win in four years and become the first non-factory team to win a title in GT4, GT3 and GTE. Starting the 4 hour endurance race from eighth on the grid, Alex MacDowall battled his way to the front of the field. Beechdean AMR Ready for Estoril Finale

This weekend Beechdean Aston Martin Racing (AMR) will compete in the final round of the 2016 European Le Mans Series (ELMS). The Series will head to the south of Portugal, where the final race will take place on the tight and twisty circuit of Autodromo do Estoril. This will be the third year running that Autodromo do Estoril will host the championship finale. Estoril is situated thirty minutes’ drive away from the capital of Portugal, Lisbon. The 2.599 mile circuit presents a unique challenge to drivers and teams. In last year’s race, high crosswinds and varied weather conditions added to the spice of the finale. Beechdean AMR Survive Chaotic Spa

  Beechdean Aston Martin Racing (AMR) contested the fifth round of the 2016 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at the renowned Spa Francorchamps circuit. Beechdean AMR drivers Andrew Howard, Darren Turner and Alex MacDowall finished the four hour race in fifth position, maintaining their hold of second in the championship. The fifth round wasn’t plain sailing for the #99 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE car. Unfortunately car issues forced MacDowall, who was starting the race, to pit at the end of the formations lap. Beechdean AMR Look to Close the Gap in Belgium

Beechdean Aston Martin Racing (AMR) will compete in the fifth round of the 2016 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at the challenging Spa Francorchamps circuit in the east of Belgium. Drivers Andrew Howard, Darren Turner and Alex MacDowall currently sit second in the GTE driver standings, five points behind the leaders. Informally known simply as ‘Spa’, the circuit is often high on the list of driver’s favourites, due to its undulating nature, large variety of corners and picturesque setting. Howard Takes Blancpain Gentlemen Driver Award in Finale

The #DoningtonDecider saw the return of the Vantage V12 GT3 to the Beechdean AMR garage. In a last minute change of line up, Rory Butcher joined team owner and driver Andrew Howard in the GT3. The #1 car, which sadly missed rounds seven and eight at Snetterton due to damage, returned to the championship in terrific style. Qualifying started well for the pairing, who initially looked set to compete with the three British GT3 title contenders. Howard set a scintillating time of 1.29.377’s which placed him second in the Am qualifying session.
